Learning an instrument is often seen as something children and teenagers do, but there is no reason why music should stop being part of our lives once we become adults. In fact, many adults come to the piano with a strong sense of curiosity, a long-standing interest in music, or simply the desire to finally make time for something they have always wanted to do.
Over the years, I have taught many adults with very different backgrounds. Some have been complete beginners who had always wanted to learn the piano but had never had the opportunity, while others had learned as children and wanted to return to the instrument after many years.
Although my teaching techniques are tailored to the needs of adult learners, my approach is no different from the one I take with younger students: the student’s own goals are at the centre of the lessons. We discuss together what you would like to achieve and shape the lessons around your interests, whether you want to learn particular pieces, develop your technique, return to playing after many years, or simply enjoy making music.
I offer weekday daytime lessons (mornings included) on Mondays and Wednesdays, making them particularly suitable for adults who have more flexibility during the day.
